At Jago Interiors, we were approached by the homeowners of this beautiful St Albans property to completely redesign their master bathroom into a space that feels like a personal retreat — calm, luxurious, and timeless. They wanted more than just a functional room; they envisioned a sanctuary where relaxation meets refined design.
Our concept centred around spa-inspired serenity, using soft tones, natural textures, and ambient lighting to create a peaceful, restorative atmosphere. The result is a bathroom that exudes quiet sophistication — perfectly balancing modern comfort with timeless craftsmanship.
Design Approach
We began by reimagining the layout to enhance flow and openness. The original bathroom layout felt confined, so we introduced a more spacious plan with a walk-in shower featuring frameless glass panels and a freestanding bathtub as the focal point of the room.
The palette combines warm neutral tiles with subtle stone veining, paired with brushed brass fixtures that add understated elegance. A custom-built vanity unit, crafted from natural wood and topped with a quartz surface, provides both beauty and functionality — offering plenty of storage without compromising style.
Lighting played a defining role in shaping the mood. We installed soft LED strips beneath floating cabinetry and behind mirrors to create a gentle, ambient glow. By day, the space feels airy and bright; by night, it transforms into a soothing retreat — the perfect place to unwind.
